So, we drove to Washington DC without any problems. We decided to get in the car and stop for breakfast sling the way. Well we are in America, we will find a good breakfast right? ~ WRONG. We drove along and after about an hour we said we stop at the next place we find. We picked the only extremly bad place, I think!!! We decide to have Cinabonn, they were AWFUL... There was one choice, the women serving looked like she could do with a holiday/vacation. She looked at me as if I had green horns on my head when I asked for a bottle of water... We then carried on driving to Washington. I having to tell you, DC was pretty awesome....meeting with friends also made the trip.
The only let down for me and it was a let down was there was not water in the Reflecting pool. Looked pretty manky (where the reflecting should be) but otherwise I loved it ~ so did G and J.
We flew to Boston on 'Jet Blue' I love Jet Blue...yes I love something!!!
It was fantastic, leg room, good service, flight on time and so I could on. In fact I would have been happy to fly back to Europe with them. Have to say Jet Blue could teach the other airlines a thing or two! The flight attendants never gave the impression they were doing us a favor by being on the plane ~ I know that can't be the easiest job ~ but come on some of the flight attendants make you wish you had a seat out on the wing of the plane where you can't disturb them... I know not all are like that but there are many who are.
We get to Boston, go pick up our car ~ again lovely people (unlike some of the other car rental places I have seen) gps was not so lovely, she seemed to have a few issues being a gps, one being she had no idea where she was going!!!
We Spent two days in Verere went to the movies 2 days running. First day we went and seen Transforms ~ I can't comment on this movie as I slept for most of of the movie. Next day I went and seen Bridesmaids and G and J watch Green Lantern.
We then drove to MH and stayed with Queenie and family which was awesome ~ we had a really relaxing time. Went on a Duck tour of Boston, went for dinner, laser tag (not me the others) had our first 4th of July, watched fireworks, met new people (All absolutly fantastic) Queenie and family your fantastic hosts!!!
We then drove to back to NY to get our flight back. We drove for a couple of hours and decided to pull of and get some lunch, while looking for somewhere I see a Italian pastry shop. Well ~ I have always wanted to try a cannoli, so off I head and find I can have the original or chocolate and they ranged in size. I went for the small traditional version .... YUCK!!!! I really disliked this and won't be eating another!!! Again, YUCK, YUCK, YUCK!
Well we get to the airport. Checked in, that gave me a headache!!! Seems you need to use a machine before you get to a person... Well when we did get to an actual real human we decided to upgrade to economy plus ~ hahaha, joke was on us!!!!
Well let me tell you, we paid to be kicked by people climbing over us rather than walk an extra few feet. I kept calm (the lovely flight attendant had already told us she was aware and watching) well it got worse and worse. Like I said I kept calm but started to get very, very angry. Within an hour we were moved to nice seats which never including being kicked!!!!

Well we flew back to Wales, nice and easy trip. J never slept the whole way which would really blow him out of whack for a few days.
I ate more than I planned or even should have straight away!
So I have had Chippy, Chinese and Indian.... Still not had a Gregg's Cheese savory...But i will!!!!!

So we landed, went to GMoJ unloaded...met the most adorable little boy...who gives lovely cuddles. I have fallen in love and want 10 just like him!!!
The drove to see family....nobody seemed to recognize J...my sister realized when she seen G and I...lol
Seeing my amazing niece and nephew and GS was worth the few thousand miles!!! Good to see others as well.

We went to set up a new bank account...easy right ..WRONG!!!
I am not going into that one...but I will say what should have taken an hour max took about 4!!!
took two days to sort out new glasses....come on ANY NEED?????

On Saturday we took J to Barry Island which will always be known to J as home of Gavin and Stacy....
Went in the arcades... J and G played Guns ( I know...) I  played on the 2p slots that you drop the 2p in and it pushes money over the edge....I was soooo close to winning..but G cut me off....after playing around 2 pounds worth I am sure I only needed about 30p more to win around 50 p.....
Had a lovely family fathers day lunch...everywhere was full...but I pulled the I live in Japan card and I am never home...blah blah...table for 9 was found!!!!

Then we flew to the US on Tuesday....Pretty good flight...was put into the longest que in immigration..then the longest line at the counters...at least another 2 plane loads of people were seen before us!!!!
J was not to good on the flight...not his usual self... but kept insisting he was fine
We went into New York next day...Went to the Statue of liberty and Ellis island...not happy with the choppy waters!!!!
J went and danced on the key board in that toy store that I cant spell the name of and i am sure spell check is not physic!
Then we walked up 5th and were outside Tiffany's when G said you want to buy a ring...Hummm do I???? Of course...so we bought a new ring that matches my chain...and we had champers...and it did not taste like corn beef...all champers take like corn beef to me...well normally...
J was looking peaky, but wanted to keep going, but we decided to head back...went to the hotel and asked for a Dr...went to the local ER (which was awesome!!!) and they said he was asthmatic..then did a chest x-ray and found he has pneumonia...poor kid...He was given lots of meds which are awesome I might add...

So we drove to the other side of New Jersey yesterday...laundry all done...go me!!!!
Then I was in the Gym at 6.17am this morning...so another go!!!!!

Today we drive to Washington DC.....

Have a great day

OMG!!!! Any need…I can now see why I am a nightmare….
I need a slap! I can’t complete a task that is important! I can float around in my own world…. I am good that.
One job I had to really do this week and it was finished at 4.30 am this morning…AGAIN any need?

This last month the way I have behaved is awful, in fact if I had seen people behaving the way I had I think I would have used a tranquilizer gun on them!!!!! I mean I am getting back to the old Wendy… Obnoxious!!!!!

I have my kindle and I and not afraid to sit in a corner read it and let the world go by!!!!

Book club was nice on Monday… after school returns we have already decided the first to book and the next 3 hosts. Book was not what I wanted to read….Much better than I thought and then finding out that the author was a women and she had NEVER had kids I seen her and the book in a different light

Extremely anger at yahoo weather, lying to me AGAIN!!!…it was not sunny yesterday nor is it this morning…

Right I am off to put my happy face on…might take some work but I will manage it…I mean I have to get that attention span back! So no matter how long it takes I kill two birds with one stone…The happy face and the attention span!

Just thought good job I shelved that idea about writing a book….with my attention span…What was I thinking????

June 10, 2011

Oh my it is already June 10th, school is nearly out summer is trying to decided if it wants to come and stay or just keep visiting… Well I hope it is here fully by the time I get back in July.
I have still not written or even started the book that I wanted to write… Think I need to give on this…may be I will write something and send it to Yeti Moo to approve…
I have still not lost have 20 lbs in one hour!!! I might have lost $20 or even £20 sterling but not 20 lbs in the form that I want!!! Arrrggghhhh
I have lost inches…very pleased but also ADDED inches to another area which I needed like a hole in the head.
I have also done enough washing this week for a family of 20!!! I mean come on there is only 3 of us!
I have had a few strange dreams…one where a bottle of Champagne popped it cork and left a lovely hole in my ceiling…. Another one with Dolphins and Whales…that was a nice dream except don’t know why the whales had red and white t-shirts on….Bizarre right?

This week I have gone to the gym…had a training sessions with Dan the Man.
Been to the Arctic pool…which I might add is not nearly as cold as it has been.
Been out for dinner for LLL birthday…Nice place, nice food and a 5.7 quake to get the dinner started… NICE! (Sarcastic tones there as I type)
This weekend we have Bubbles, Mrs. H and The Bag Lady with Hubbys coming over for dinner.
All new recipes except for one… and I would choose to make a menu with stuff needing to be done last minute…

I really need to start reading my book for book club…. Yeti Moo the book is called ‘We need to talk about Kevin’ if you want to read it and let me know what you think… … This was Orange Ping Pongs choice of book….I think this will be a very interest discussion.
We have a very nice book club group, a really mix of ladies from all over.
I love the name of one of the lady’s book club back home….’11 wines and a beer’ I mean how cool is that stating in the obvious for a book group name. I think if I was in that group it might be called 11 wine and a beer plus a Pepsi….Just a thought

So not long until holiday/vacation….yayyyy apart from looking forward to seeing people I am also looking forward to
1. A cheese savory roll from Greggs with a packet of bacon crisp
2. A nice carvery …with veggies I recognize
3. PF Changs if we can find one in the areas we will be in
4. Panera sandwich and soup
5. Raspberry ice tea that has NO tea taste!!!!

Also of late I am also noticing more and more how much J is like me … Now this is great and not so great…Not impressed with the attitude…which I am being told is identical to mine….hummmm ...thinking NOT!!!!! I mean REALLY any need!
Every morning that child has to watch his basketball with his breakfast…(breakfast for J seems to be getting more leisurely by the day I might add)….I remember hearing kids talk about rugby, football/soccer and get excited about Liverpool or Man united….but now I hear all about The Miami Heat team….I mean Why Miami???? Why not the Celtics, or the Raptors…I like the Raptors Mascot.
Every day he comes home from school he is outside at the basketball hoop I have had enough of that basketball banging….. Bang, bang, bang arrggghhhh no idea what the poor neighbors must be thinking….

June 5, 2011

Where has the week gone????? I mean I have to have more time to do stuff….well do nothing…because I never have enough time in my day….But I never have anything to show for doing NOTHING! I mean come on any need?!?!?

So this week I have noticed…..
….. that if you wear high heels and you can’t walk in them properly…then walk on the road instead of the path/sidewalk…this way you won’t break your ankle but you might be hit with a car!
….. That a dog in Japan is treated like a baby and while most parents of really human babies don’t use stroller they carry their babies in sling like thingies….most dogs here…well in this area, have their own doggy stroller….I mean come on any need?!?!? Dogs are meant to go for a walk…not be pushed in a stroller!!!! ANY NEED!!!!!
….. The ¥ 100 store, ($1 store) is not ¥ 100 but ¥105…but I think I already knew that…
….. I don’t necessarily have a sweet tooth…more like I LOVE food tooth!
….. I don’t think I like Vanilla ice cream…bit of a waste of an ice cream flavor really!

Miss. Sugar high smile sending you the biggest hugs!

So this week our visitor Charity went home. We never did much but she did make a box…well cover a box and she also made some book marks.
I caught up with Yeti Moo, spent more time on the call than either one of us intended…funny how we live thousands of miles apart but that does not stop the friendship.
We had dinner with GL and Mr. GL, (boy was that curry thrown together quickly!)
We also went to a 40th birthday where the theme was red. (Painting your own finger nails with bright red nail polish is not a great idea when you are useless at paint nails!
Image… if you can, walking into a room where a young child has found a pen and decided to decorate the walls, hummm you seeing the picture right…So now image me putting on the varnish and pretty much having the same out come as that young child only the childs uses the walls, I use nails plus fingers and a bag of cotton wool….I think I had more varnish on my fingers rather than my nails! Finally gave up and Ms. GB painted the RED nails for me!...thank goodness…So guessing that attention span of mine was ALL used up with the washi eggs!)
Also been to the Arctic pool and gym!!!!! Attention spam REALLY going out the window on these two… Go on roll your eyes…
I finished my washi egg project…only to start another washi egg project with quail’s eggs this time.
I also downloaded a few books on to my Kindle. Planning on reading a bit on the holidays!!!
Threw a few things away, which is a big deal for me … As I can’t throw ANYTHING away; guess I am a bit of a nightmare…..
Can’t really think what else I did….hummm Well those washi eggs, did take some time!

May 29, 2011

I got on the scales yesterday (no idea why I did that) No real exercise done this week…But I lost weight…..Yayyyyyyyy
So I treated myself to a bowl of ice cream…I know…I can image the eyes rolling…I am doing it now…Who loses weight and treats them self to ice (well I never actually said yes I am treating myself to a bowl of ice cream, but it all happened in a very close time period!)….Arrrggggghhhh

I am having trouble keeping awake during the day…ridiculous really, I think I need to make sure I schedule in an afternoon nap every day. I am typing this I am trying to think how I can find an excuse to go nap…but the problem is I am going into deep sleep mode…. Then I am walking around in a even more dozier state than normal!

This week Charity and I went to another Japanese craft class, this time we made Japanese paper doll book marks…My attention span actually lasted the whole time, which I think surprised everyone…Still no Koi paper…ANY NEED????

This morning I went to my first dragon boat race where G and colleagues had entered a team…
This is where you have 20 people in a long wooden boat, with a dragons head on the front.
You have a person at the front banging a drum and a person at the back steering and 18 others in rows of two rowing (J and G were paired up, extremely happy child) …Well today was a very, very wet rainy day and I think I got as wet as the people in the boat. No need REALLY!!!!!
I told one look at the water and thought hummm is J’s tetanus injection up to date? I felt no better when they were in the boat and heading to the starting point and I seen a dead fish slapping against the sea wall….I mean come on, any need?

So I decided I was going to make Washi eggs…
This where you use Japanese paper, some of the papers are beautiful… (Some are just plain ugly and the designer or maker of that paper must have drunk to much Saki)
So I go on YouTube and find a way to make washi eggs, I actually found how to blow out eggs….(yukkkk!!!!) I the measured my eggs, measured the paper and cut it to size. I then painstakingly pasted every piece of paper slowly and carefully…. Some of those ugly papers look a lot better on the egg.
Well know I am addicted to making these Eggs…the paste is drying on my hands and this is minging!!!
I am not quite sure how I get so much paste on my hands but I do.
I have made normal chicken size eggs, I have Quail eggs, all ready to be decorated and I have even attempted to make the plastic kids eggs you get at Easter.
Guessing, and it is just a guess that my attention span just might be growing!

May 25, 2011

NO exercise Monday, No exercise Tuesday ( not unless you consider the walk I went on with Mrs. H last night for what was meant to be 30 minutes and turned out to be an hour because we got lost!!!)
So there I said NO EXERCISE…I am surprised it took me this long to take two days off!!!....But I am back in full swing today with a morning swim in the Arctic pool today…well I am heading there after school drop off.

My friend ‘Charity’ arrived to stay with us on Monday on her Asia tour….It’s amazing how even when you have not seen people for years you just fall straight to where you…

So yesterday Charity and I went to a craft class to make a Japanese tea box…Well make is the wrong word…decorate is more like more like it…Well I wanted Koi fish on my mine…but there was not enough to cover the box had chosen… So I decided on a blue Japanese style…looked better on the box than it did just lying there with all the other sheets of paper.
Well Charity was top of the class, A plus student…She was enjoying herself…completed her box (took notes so she can make some when she goes back home) Looked as if she could have taken on another 20 boxes!!!!...I on the other hand had a headache from peeling tape, finding paper (not Koi patterned!!!)
Measuring, adding up, cutting, pasting and getting gluey/paste fingers!!!! To say I was ready to leave by the end of the class would have been an understatement.
I think taking the pictures of each step made me happier…I am very happy I have made a box…I still want to make a ottoman/chest size one…but thinking I might need to take some medication before I start that one!!!
